LOVE to LOVE SPARKLE VIDEO DAY!

Donna Summer needs absolutely no introduction!  In today’s Sparkle Video she is the definition of Disco Beauty and takes hold of the stage in an EGYPTIAN SPARKLE CATSUIT ensemble that is on fire– especially when she starts to boogie down making use of the right arm flowing fabric/cuff moment! KUDOS!!!!!

Truth be told, it’s rare to find video of Ms. Summers performing in a Sparkle Outfit and I am unsure why. There must be a logical reason because I refuse to believe that she just didn’t like them. No matter, she’ll always be my Queen. Thankfully, I think the Midnight Special had a mandate that all performers wear sparkles so they could make use of their fabulous STARFILTERS! Thank you Midnight Special!

DIY SPARKLE VIDEO DAY!

Today’s Sparkle Video defies logic. How can so many things that don’t make sense turn out so DIY KABLAM!?  My first thoughts: the song… why? Snoopy… why? Was Musikladen shot in someone’s basement? Why did one woman take off her heels?

I forget all those kooky mismatched ideas when I look at this duo of SUPER HOT DISCO LADIES who are rocking the show-stopping look I like to call “DANCING SCHOOL FABULOUS”.  Sequin Outfits with matching Sparkle Cuffs will never die, and throwing in hot pink feather boas: priceless!

Truth is, this video reminds me of those crazy after hours karaoke moments when everyone is feeling sassy and the costumes come out..  you know the scene.

SILVER SEQUIN SPARKLE VIDEO DAY!

Today’s Sparkle Video features the sequin catsuit to end all sequin catsuits because this SPACED OUT SILVER number is totally OFF THE CHAIN! What’s amazing is how current the shape is- those shoulders are right on trend in 2010.  I’m also tripping on the right sleeve that includes a fabulous, “hinting at a SPACE CUFF” detail!  Notice when Emily Woods is moving, she knows how to work that body to show off this genius design?

Truthfully, I do find this outfit an odd choice for a classic song like Proud Mary and I wonder why didn’t she go for covering a hot track by Patrick Cowley, but who really cares?  She looks stunning amidst all those disco balls and laser beams, and isn’t that what we all want out of life?

KABLAM! IT’S SPARKLE VIDEO DAY!

There’s only one thing to say about today’s Sparkle Video and that’s: KABLAM!  THE DAZZLE DANCERS are Heroes of the Sparkle Army and in this sassy version of the Love Boat, it’s pretty clear why. All of our favorite things jam packed into 4 minutes and 1 second of fun- scantily clad bodies, glitter, sparkles and MORE GLITTER! Did you happen to notice the fabulous use of SPARKLE CUFF FASHION? SPARKLE VIDEO DAY IS HERE!

Due to a crushing Champagne hangover, this is going to be short and sweet, but no matter because today’s Sparkle Video doesn’t need much introduction. The fabulous Amanda Lepore’s “Cotton Candy” is oodles of fun with gobs of GLITTERING JEWELS and DANCING SPARKLES! Also starring super hottie Cazwell as the nerdy love interest, this is one of those videos I can’t get enough of- it really is sweet like Cotton Candy!

FRIDAY IS SPARKLE VIDEO DAY!

There’s nothing I don’t love about today’s Sparkle Video- from the opening scene right up to the end- it’s sex on fire!  Lulu is feeling it singing “I Love to Boogie” but we all know what she means. Her divine hotness in that skintight SEQUIN CATSUIT, thanks to a steady diet of carrot sticks, screams MEOW MEOW MEOW! Once her underage dance partner shows up in equally tight pants, high heels and shiny slicked back hair, things really heat up!

Grinding on the dancefloor, surrounded by a circle of strangers rolling around them- it’s just like a scene from Plato’s Retreat… except with clothes!

A VERY BRADY SPARKLE VIDEO DAY!

To celebrate the long 4th of July weekend, today’s Sparkle Video is a slice of Americana on DAZZLE OVERLOAD! Back in the 70’s, variety shows exploding with sequins were the norm and everyone in showbiz had one.  Our favorite blended family, The Brady Bunch, was no exception and in this clip, are working SPARKLE OVERTIME in a medley of disco classics!

There is so much to see in this video- a bevy of dancers in sherbet colored GLITTER AFROS, “fake” Jan belting out “Turn the Beat Around”  and my personal fave, Greg Brady’s stiff whitewashed version of the Jacksons’ “Enjoy Yourself”.  There’s even cameo from the “What’s Happening” gang featuring top notch dance moves from Fred “Rerun” Berry!  All of this in a flurry of RHINESTONE MADNESS!

With the set, the costumes, the STARFILTERS– all so fabulous, it really makes me believe those Brady “behind the scenes” rumors must be true!

2-for-1 SPARKLE VIDEO DAY!

Today has TWO Sparkle Videos for the price of ONE!  The reason for this groundbreaking move is the artist himself, HAR MAR SUPERSTAR.  He’s not necessarily good, or even good looking, but has the DAZZLING BALLS balls to dress in spandex and gyrate around on stage and then- when you least expect it- drop into a split!  Watching him live is like seeing a man who loves karaoke so much that he cashed in his life savings to make records, go on tour and then terrorize people with his blindingly daring antics.

Har Mar Superstar truly has a special place in my heart because while everyone knows that there is nothing more refreshing than an ice cold TALLBOY, he had the good sense to write a song about it.  The first video below is the slick produced music video.  In this “hollywood” version, Mr. Superstar is dressed like an 80’s robot while lovely ladies get SPARKLE-IZED and Space Sluts have sexy GLITTER PILLOW FIGHTS!

FRIDAY IS SPARKLE VIDEO DAY!

Today’s Sparkle Video is a celebration of all things right in the world:  The legendary Toilet Boys reformed, live and SPARKLING! The show took place last Monday night at Le Poisson Rouge, where the AC must have been broken-because it was hot, hot, HOT!  Maybe it was the heat emanating from the band, who’s devoted fans endured the high temps and rocked out in proper NYC style?  All I know is they did not disappoint, and that includes new member Shane who has filled Rik Rocket’s combat boots fabulously!

Enough biz talk- let’s discuss Sparkle Fashion.  HOLLA MISS GUY!  Not one, but TWO DAZZLING OUTFITS and added bonus of the night, drummer Eddie making a statement in a BEDAZZLED TANK! Be still my heart!  The only thing missing that night was Sean’s show stopping “fire trick”, but that place would have gone up in flames in an instant!  Still- I can’t think of a better way to go.

SPARKLE VIDEO DAY IS HERE!

This Sparkle Video Day is ultra special because it’s being posted from our very own blog! I must confess I’m still learning how the “blog scene” works- but I didn’t want to waste any precious time we could be SPARKLING TOGETHER over a silly thing like computer technology… am I right?

Today’s video- one word: KABLAM!  I don’t know what this director is ON, but give me some please!  A magical lady warrior flying around shooting lasers from her eyes while she brings to life SPACED OUT SPARKLE SLUTS who robot dance?  Da General’s in love!  This is pure DAZZLE OVERLOAD at its best and on a fashion note- check out the guy in the silver wearing SPACE CUFFS!  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again- GET SOME!

Now, I don’t know who Tommy Sparks is, and I sure as hell don’t know why he doesn’t call himself Tommy Sparkles (are you listening Tommy?), but he is IN, IN, IN The Sparkle Army!
