WITH A LITTLE MORE SPARKLES…
Today’s Sparkle Video is all about cotton candy and sweet dreams. Not literally, but I can’t help but think of those things every time I see Olivia Newton John and her flawless beauty and fabulous hair. Everything about her has always been perfection and seeing her in this pink sparkle number complete with spandex disco pants makes me swoon. Then top it off with backup singers in sequin tube tops and even more spandex, and it’s just off the darn charts! The truly best part is that this dazzling clip of “A Little More Love” is not only a glittering way to start the weekend, but an especially great way to cure a hangover. I don’t know about you Soldiers, but I’m feeling better already!
SPARKLING TIGHT!
Today’s Sparkle Video has the super sassy Galaxy turning out the definition of “party” with this vintage appearance on Top of the Pops. This magical jam called “Dancing Tight” is being performed in a room of glorious perfection that includes all the classics: flashing lights, gobs of smoke and endless 80’s disco tarts. Now, I don’t know what “tight” dancing is, but I’m sure up for trying some- especially in this dreamy fantasy oasis!
SPARKLE VIDEO DON’T CARE
Today marks the first time an artist has been chosen to be the Sparkle Video two weeks in a row, so let’s just say that I’ve been bitten by the “Eartha Kitt bug”. I’m completely smitten by her attitude in this clip for “I Don’t Care”, which is basically a theme song for those of us who like to do our own thing- all the time, no matter what. Here, she’s a mysterious feline female in a fabulous black catsuit with magical chiffon wings, who makes men rip off their clothes and dance around her like adoring minions. I suppose I love this song because I also “don’t care what the trendies may do” nor care “what they tell me is new” and I especially “don’t care what the people say” as I’ll always “carry on this way.” Indeed, sparkling minds really do think alike.

If a magic spell was cast on confetti which turned it into people, it would be today’s Sparkle Video. In “I Love Men”, the dazzling Miss Eartha Kitt makes a purringly fabulous entrance onto a stage of flashing lights accented by sparkling floor disco balls. Here she meets up with her posse of men and together they growl and slink though the crowd and then- KABLAM! She’s in a bedroom where she becomes the sparkling center of a man sandwich (loves that the one on the left is giving Iggy Pop circa 1977!). Then, once again she slinks off through the crowd while being showered in glitter while she makes her way back to the stage for a showstopping finale with her gaggle of underwear clad men. It’s eerily like a dream I once had, however, she was me.
