As you can imagine, it’s been a quite a busy week sparkling up and getting ready for tomorrow night, which by the way, is going to be ultra fabulous! While many of you have joined the Sparkle Army before, today’s Sparkle Video is to show the gobs of new recruits what’s in store for the evening. This exciting segment was taped at last year’s party by our friends at Clorophorm TV and I think it truly captures the spirit. I can’t wait to see you all tomorrow night at Monster Ronson’s where legends will be made.

One of the greatest things about Sparkle Videos is that no matter where they come from, they all speak the same language: FABULOUS! Today, we have Disco Queen Sylvie Vartan singing and strutting in a sexy sparkling tiger number that fearlessly shows off her gorgeous gams while she’s tossed around between four dancing men in sunglasses. With the addition of a light-up dance floor-that spells fantastic!
Today’s Sparkle Video from Rokotto rocks my whole entire being. Aside from being one of the most well outfitted bands to grace a stage, they sing the only gospel that matters in this world. Listening to the golden sequined singer preach that “There is just one way that people come together- it’s in the music that we play” has me screaming “AMEN!”. In fact, this sparkle-tastic performance of “Funk Theory” makes me not only proud to be a believer in the Word of Glitter, but also in the magical power of music and dance and, most importantly, a believer that there are more of us than them- but ain’t that what funk is all about?

Today’s Sparkle Video is the what we call the “total package”. Light-up dance floor, back-up dancers in spandex space suits and sexy Vivien Vee in the mostamazing sequin catsuit EVER! In fact, I’m inclined to believe that it’s actually her skin and that she’s some sort of fabulous Disco Fairy that beamed down to earth to make sure we all dance and party our little sparkling hearts out. Which reminds me… we will be doing just that on November 19th so get your outfits (and SPACE CUFFS) ready!
I really tried to find a higher quality version of today’s Sparkle Video but there wasn’t one. No matter because High Energy‘s fabulosity still comes across full force. These wonder women are singing, roller skating and looking disco-tastic at the same time and they do it all with perfection. I definitely feel their “Swirl”.. don’t you?
Today’s Sparkle Video features gorgeous Heather Parisi, dressed in a black sequin and faux necklace getup that’s supremely sparkle-tastic! Her ultra fabulous performance of “Wild Boys” has her doing some pretty amazing things with her body on a stage filled with flashing lights and equally sassy back up dancers. Why didn’t Duran Duran think of this?
This Sparkle Video features my favorite Ritchie Family song, “Put Your Feet To The Beat”, and while their official video for this track is an amazing masterpiece of disco history, today is all about this treasure- a live appearance on Kultnacht TV. True perfection as you can see, with our lovely ladies dressed in their bedazzled biker chic, dancing and singing through green twirling lasers under fabulously purple lit disco balls. Magic!
I’m so intrigued by today’s Sparkle Video because it has all the elements of fabulosity- a tall gorgeous creature dressed in a red hot sequin bodysuit and heels with amazing hair and makeup surrounded by billowing smoke. If all of that wasn’t enough, Bibi Andersen takes it a step further by singing “Call Me Lady Champagne” while sipping on a delightful glass of bubbly. I think we have a new hero Soldiers!
Today’s Sparkle Video celebrates the absolute King of Disco, Marc Cerrone, who’s first hit was back in 1976. Can you believe that “Love in C Minor” was actually turned down by the record labels (such fools)? Thankfully, the people on the dance floor (the only ones that matter) knew right away that this was pure magic. In fact, if there is any one person that owns disco, it’s Cerrone and his prolific onslaught of timeless tracks including “Je Suis Music”, “Supernature”, “Midnight Lady” and “You are the One” which features vocals from the legendary Jocelyn Brown. Today, after more than 30 years, his music is still furiously played by DJ’s everywhere and he continues to compose, produce and play the largest drum kit known to man as well as collaborate with many different artists, which brings me all the way back to today’s Sparkle Video. Now, normally I detest most modern remixes of the classics because they always seem to destroy the spirit of the of original, but not this one- excellent work Bob Sinclair! Not only does this 2001 version of “Give Me Love” pay fabulous tribute to the master, but it’s turned up the sex a few notches by adding a bunch of naked women smeared in metallic makeup and shimmering gold fleckswrithing in ecstasy and I’m sure that Cerrone is nothing but proud.
Today’s Sparkle Video shows The Jacksons performing on Musikladen dressed adorably in bedazzled powderblue from top to bottom with the fabulous touch of spaced-out shoulder pads. I personally find it much more effective when the entire group has matching outfits don’t you? It certainly makes much more of a statement and I love the one they’re making! The infectious repetition of “Enjoy Yourself” coupled with Michael’s pleading to stop worrying about things you can’t control, just live the life you got and get up on the dance floor and have some fun makes this one of their catchiest songs ever. Well, you don’t have to twist my arm Jacksons…I’m already dancing!
